LEAD which had been long known as an elegant motor scooter for adults had been renewed to target the commuters who work in urban areas. It had a newly designed water-cooled OHC single cylinder engine which had been made compact by putting the radiator inside the engine unit. Its fuel injection system and its catalyzer made it conform to the emission regulation while improving its cold startability, idling stability, drivability, and fuel efficiency. Though it was equipped with a large 35L size storage under its seat, its seat height was kept low(740mm) to make it easy to handle. Its fuel tank was placed under the floor to lower its center of gravity. It also gave careful consideration to its comfortability and loadability when ridden double by adopting parts such as the 650mm long seat or the aluminum large carrier that was placed in the same height as the seat.
